OR Behavioral Health Admissions Intake Coordinator – LCSW/LCPC
Position Summary:
Responsible for facilitating admissions to the Behavioral Health inpatient service. Manages all aspects of regional transfers and coordinates with providers, charge nurses, case managers, and involved Kootenai Health departments for the safe and expedient placement of patients requiring psychiatric admission. Works closely with the Transfer Center to organize patient flow to Behavioral Health Units. Ensures prompt communication and customer service with regional partners.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates admissions to the behavioral health units to ensure safe bed placement Partners with accepting providers to facilitate a streamlined admission process Prompt response to all admission requests from regional facilities to ensure excellent customer service Provides a consistent flow of communication between providers, nursing, case managers, transfer center, emergency department and medical/surgical departments for placement of behavioral health patients Fosters teamwork between all entities involved in the admission process Working knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and admission criterion Performs patient assessments as needed Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Performs other related duties as assigned Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned
Behavioral Health Admissions Intake Coordinator RN:
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
BSN required Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required Minimum 2 years’ of psychiatric nursing experience required 3 to 5 years’ psychiatric nursing experience preferred State of Idaho Registered Nurse OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the “multistate privilege to practice” company with Idaho prior to start date BLS required MOAB Certification during General Orientation

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work or related field required LCSW/LCPC Idaho state license required or equivalent acceptable with license in the State of Idaho required within 6 months Minimum 3 years’ case management experience or behavioral health patient care or working with psychiatric patients in an emergency triage department required 3 to 5 years of psychiatric case management or patient care experience preferred BLS required MOAB Certification during General OrientationWorking Conditions:
Must be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs Must be able to maintain a sitting position Must be able to move or traverse with/without accommodation Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipmentAbout Kootenai Health:
