Position Responsibilities:

Gathers necessary information and calls insurance companies to complete Utilization Review for all patients.   Works with physicians, nurses, and therapist on documentation to optimize reimbursements.   Ensures high quality, cost effective health care by enforcing compliance of safety, processes, policies, and procedures. Provides face to face weekly Psychotherapy supervision to 3rd year Psychiatry Residence. Performs Quarterly Compliance report of 20% of all Medicare admissions to the Psychiatry units. Verifies and updates payroll system on a daily basis and troubleshoots with Clinical Director on pending issues. Interviews potential staff and students candidates and ensures qualified "Preceptors" are able to meet, talk and provide feedback on candidates potential. Ensures new students' onboarding is effective and that he/she feel welcomed and appreciated from his/her very first day at work, and provides students face to face weekly Psychotherapy supervision. Continuously monitors student's performance and completes semiannual evaluations. Reinforces desired behaviors and defines action plans to correct/improve opportunity areas. Provides continuous and effective coaching to the students to ensure they feels that they are appreciated, that they are developing his/her skills, and that they have a sponsor to guide them on their career path decisions. Review and co-sign student's assessments and notes in patients' chart and sign for completed practicum hours at the end of the student's rotation with psychiatry. Enforces compliance of HR Personnel policies, procedure and strict patient confidentiality including HIPAA regulations. Promotes a healthy work environment by facilitating open communication, team work and constantly celebrating team achievements. Continuously recognize individuals for observed desired behaviors and communicates to Clinical Director and team during safety huddles and monthly meetings. Participates in cross-organizational actives to improve the performance of the unit and share the learning with the team. Educates and counsels patient, friends, and family to reinforce their understanding of disease, medications, plan of care and self-care skills. Talks in clear, unhurried manner at all times and utilizes therapeutic communication skills. Oversees and assists in resolving patient needs, with a multidisciplinary team approach and collaborates with the Patient Relations Department for patients complaints.

 Qualifications

Healing Arts Licensure is required. Doctoral or Masters degree in the Healing Arts required. Doctoral or Masters Degree in Health related field or Business Degree. Five plus years of Behavioral Health experience.
