FlexStaff is seeking a Behavioral Health RN to work for one of our clients, the largest city health system for their location in Queens, NY.
This is a permanent, full-time job. 3x12hours shifts.
In this role you would be working in Inpatient adult unit and be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications, and offering therapeutic support.
The base salary is $106,301. Candidates with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing will receive an additional $1,800, while those with a Master of Science in Nursing will receive an additional $2,000 added to the base pay.
Requirements:
1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and
2. Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
3. At least 6-12 months experience as a psychiatric/behavioral RN.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
+ Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mental and physical health status.
+ Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
+ Administer medications and monitor their effects, ensuring compliance with prescribed treatments.
+ Provide compassionate and therapeutic support to patients through active listening and counseling.
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care and progress.
+ Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
+ Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
+ Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
+ Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

The salary range for this position is $106,301-$110,000/year
