Overview The Supervisor of Behavioral Health Services works collaboratively with the Director and Manager of Behavioral Health Services to carry out department goals. Ensures consistent standards of practice and models best practice behaviors. Ensures exceptional behavioral health and substance use counselor, psych social work and transitional care employee competencies, and ensures appropriate staffing to meet patient, family and hospital needs. Manages staff and holds staff accountable to department goals and KPI's. Manages staff schedule, Kronos, staff FMLA, progression, trainings for licensure and WakeMed required trainings. Addresses patient and family/loved ones/hospital concerns/issues/complaints. Recruits and orients behavioral health, substance psych social work and transitional care staff, and in collaboration with Manager performs their annual performance evaluation. Serves as clinical resource person to the staff, to problem solve difficult patient and hospital related issues and addresses patient and/or family/loved one's concerns/complaints. Provides staff coaching and problem-solving intervention with staff related issues to promote best professional practice. Assists with the development of behavioral health and substance use case management services by identifying issues and implementing new department initiatives. Works closely with physicians, nursing, members of the interdisciplinary team, patient financial services, patient access and other departments, to ensure that services are being provided in a timely/quality manner, to ensure coordination between departments and to improve resource utilization.
