Relationship: TheBehavioral Health Technician ABAshall be directly responsible to the Supervisor of Mental Health Services. Qualifications: Education/Experience: + High School Diploma, or equivalent, and 40 hours of training in content covered by Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) training, as verified by a BCBA. + Completion of all ongoing training, policy review, and supervisory requirements. Skills/Knowledge: + Strong communication and collaboration skills. + Ability to work positively in a strength-based intervention model. + Ability to adhere to mandated timelines and provide services to clients and families. + Due to itinerant nature of position, must have a valid driver’s license. Physical: + Ability to drive. + Ability to physically restrain student, in accordance with CLIU protocols. + Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes. + Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc. + Good manual dexterity. + Ability to conduct a safety restraint protocol which requires: + a normal degree of flexibility; + the ability to stand, walk, run, and shuffle for at least several minutes; + the ability to kneel on one and two knees and then stand up; + the ability to bend the trunk at 45 degrees and twist to either side; + the ability to grasp firmly and raise hands above the head; and + the ability to learn and correctly demonstrate multi-step physical skills.
