Behavioral Health Technician--Child/Adolescent Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit

Job Description:This position assists with assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of selected technical aspects of patient care under direct supervision of the Charge RN, Assistant Head Nurse, Nurse Manager and/or the Director, to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory or accrediting agencies as well as meeting the goals and mission of the department. Provides direct and indirect care for adolescent to geriatric patients to aid meeting the patients’ needs as directed. Provides patients with activity opportunities appropriate to their ages and abilities and related to their plan for care, either individually and/or in group settings.

Education Qualifications:East Market (only): Completion of six quarters or four semesters of college with emphasis in social services or 2 years experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness or related applicable experience within 5 years of date of hire

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 1 month of hire.  (This does not apply to department 14290 – Amberwing)

East Market Brainerd Lakes:

Completes de-escalation training within 5 months of hire if no previous de-escalation training or has not had a de-escalation training/refresher within past 3 calendar years
