Behavioral Health Therapist | Psychiatry Clinical Adults | Day
Overview Job Duties Under the supervision of the Center Director, the Behavioral Health Counselor evaluates clients, provides behavioral health services for employees, and participates in behavioral health programs and presentations. Within the established guidelines set forth by the University of Florida Jacksonville Healthcare, Inc. and under the direction of the appropriate Administrator or Manager, ensure adherence to all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Provides exemplary customer service and ensures that a high level of customer service is provided by all office/department staff to our patients, who are also our employees. Responsibilities Essential Functions Work with children, adolescents, and their families to promote optimum mental and emotional health. Help youth and families deal with anxiety and depression as well as issues associated with family, parenting, peers, school related stress, adjustment issues, stress management, self-esteem, grief and developmental issues. Ability to present information in accurate and concise formats, including narrative material. Ability to perform at consistently high levels of achievement and excellence. Initiative, good judgment and strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Qualifications Skills, Knowledge, Abilities • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously, both orally and in writing. • Proficient clinical knowledge of human behavior. • Capacity to think independently and exercise sound judgment. • Strong interpersonal skills including a professional and positive demeanor. • Concisely communicate and relate to all levels of the organization, customers and outside agencies. • Ability to organize and prioritize assignments to work independently as well as a collaborative team member. • Possesses critical thinking, prioritization, and organizational skills. • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, 10-key, and database management. • Possesses critical thinking, prioritization, and organizational skills. • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information Experience Requirements 3 years mental Health/social work required 3 years in areas of trauma and grief resolution, along with experience in treating axis II disorders preferred Education Requirements Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization, preferably dialectical behavioral therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, family therapy, or trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Current licensure as a Clinical Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor High School Diploma or GED required Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required or at time of hire Licensed Psychologist required or at time of hire Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) required or at time of hire Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) required or at time of hire UFJPI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace
