Position Summary: The Tidelands Health Behavioral Health Therapist works closely with physicians, therapists, and staff at all locations within the health system to provide therapy services aligned with the Tidelands Health mission, vision and strategic plan. Under the clinical practice guidance from the primary care provider, and the Primary Care SBU Director, the therapist will provide initial behavioral health assessment, individual, group and family therapeutic services to patients and their families. The therapist will work in collaboration with the clinical team to meet the behavioral health needs of the patient. Provide a wide variety of services for a complex caseload of patients including psychosocial assessment, active treatment, discharge planning, case management, and related documentation in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary treatment team. Under the supervision of the physician, the therapist will identify risk factors, provide safety assessments and plans, apply interventions and skill building to lower patient’s risk of an undesired event.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
3 years post graduate professional social work experience, required.
1 year independent practice management, recommended.
Experience with outpatient behavioral health service care and delivery required.
Experience with inpatient behavioral health service care and delivery recommended.
Prior experience with CMS regulatory standards recommended.
Prior knowledge and coordination of multi-provider and multi-specialty clinical services recommended.
Education:
Master's degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or related degree, required.
Licensure/Certification:
Licensed as Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) – MSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners. LPC and LMFT under South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage Family Therapists.
Certified in BLS within the first 6 months of employment and maintain current thereafter.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Demonstrates ability to collaborate in a positive, professional manner with medical professionals. Requires ability to work in a thorough but efficient manner. Requires strong proficiency with PC’s; Microsoft office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; electronic medical record; and analytical problem solving skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
