Inova Fairfax Hospital Behavioral Health is looking for a dedicated Behavioral Health Therapist II to join the team. The Therapist will facilitate group therapy sessions; provide individual therapy to patients; complete psychosocial assessments; develop, implement, and update individualized safety plans; participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings; maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards; provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed. This role will be Fulltime shift: Mon- Fri, every other weekend 8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Behavioral Health Therapist I Job Responsibilities:

Provides a range of mental health and/or substance use disorders therapeutic interventions, psycho-educational programming and behavioral interventions (when indicated) to assist the patient/family in achieving the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan.  May participate in inpatient and community psychoeducational programs, facilitate support groups for specified disease processes related to mental health, medical diagnosis, chronic or life-limited illnesses while assisting with community outreach.  Duties will be performed under the clinical supervision of an approved clinical supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree, Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in mental health, social work, counseling, psychology, or behavioral health-related field Experience: Internship in mental health or substance use disorder treatment completed within 90 days of employment. Certification: Basic Life Support Within 3 Months. CPI in-person training for non-violent crisis intervention, receive CPI blue card within 6 months of hire.
