The Opportunity

As we continue to expand and transform the primary care experience, we’re looking for energetic and passionate leaders to manage the people, processes and technology that make One Medical unique. As a Virtual Medical Director, you’ll have the chance to lead your virtual team in demonstrating clinical excellence and practice sustainability. In collaboration with your manager, the National Behavioral Health Director, and your operations partner, you’ll solve problems and shape our organizational priorities. You will be able to continually develop your management and leadership skills as you learn about our business and its operations and engage your team.

What you’ll be working on:

Managerial

Managing a remote team of behavioral health providers (Therapists, Care Managers and Psychiatric Consultants) and ensuring that the providers on your team meet our clinical standards and patient care needs Guiding and supporting providers’ professional development Partnering with operations manager to support a collaborative, positive provider community Managing communication, with context, between your team, other mental health teams and primary care teams throughout the organization; represent One Medical to the local community Owning specific team management and HR functions Participating and facilitate in weekly rounds with the team  Collaborating with teammates via daily zoom huddles, as well as with broader clinical team including primary care providers, care managers, and psychiatric consultants Partner with operations manager to drive results and achieve operational performance goals

Clinical

Conduct psychiatric evaluations of a wide range of clinical presentations with patients referred by their primary care provider in an integrated setting (eg: depression, anxiety, substance misuse, adult ADHD, trauma, health anxiety). Conduct psychiatric evaluations to support short term disability. Provide certification of short term disability (licensed clinical psychologists only). Deliver ongoing treatment for a wide range of psychiatric concerns and psychosocial issues using brief evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions Participate in developing and delivering coordinated care plans with behavioral health care managers and psychiatric consultants within a collaborative care model Conduct suicide risk assessment and safety planning visits with patients including counseling on limiting access to lethal means Improve population health outcomes by providing consultation on behavioral health issues to primary care team members Participate in regularly scheduled virtual caseload consultations with the patient’s Care Manager and other team members involved in the patient’s care Provide education, care coordination and consultation with behavioral health care managers and primary care providers

HIPAA compliant area within home that is secure, quiet and isolated from others to protect PHI Reliable internet connection

Education, licenses, and experiences required for this role:

Minimum of 3 years experience managing a team of providers and clinical program leadership experience Must have an active license in WA Must be a LCSW, LMFT or LMHC and able to practice independently with no current supervision requirements Experience with providing evidence based psychotherapeutic interventions/approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapies (ACT, CBT, DBT), brief interpersonal therapy and/or other evidenced short term models  Able to provide professional CME presentations to various internal and external audiences  Willing to work in Pacific time zone Willingness to be credentialed by our Health Service Partner

This is a full-time, virtual role that requires a WA state license.

One Medical is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
