Job Description

The intern will become a part of the Project Management and Quality teams for Behavioral & Mental Health, working to support ongoing system wide initiatives. The intern will learn about the project management lifecycle, specifically in a healthcare setting, through supporting project teams. The intern will also learn about quality management and processes, supporting the quality team in a variety of improvement efforts as well as data collection, analysis, and reporting opportunities. Overall, the intern will gain knowledge of Behavioral & Mental Health programming through hands on experience and shadowing opportunities.

Project/position description:

Learn about the Project Management Lifecycle with ongoing applicationLearn about Quality Management with ongoing applicationSupport Project Managers/Coordinators and Quality Specialists across strategic initiatives:Provide project support through scheduling meetings, taking & distributing meeting minutes, and conducting follow ups with team membersAttend and participate in meetings and presentationsPrepare and maintain up to date project management and quality documentsMonitor project progress against scheduleData analysis and presentationAssist the Manager, BMH Project Portfolio Team and Manager, BMH Quality with program duties such as strategy updates, program documentationShadow the Project Management team and additional areas of Behavioral & Mental Health to gain an understanding of full project, quality, clinical & operational support for various programs

Qualifications:

Progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Project Management, or related fieldStrong work ethic and demonstrated initiativeStrong writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skillsSolid process, analytical, problem solving and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Education

College or graduate student that is currently working towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other related field
