Your role
As a Behavioral Scientist in the Global Digital Health team, you will design and optimise innovative and evidence-based health interventions that impact many lives, globally. Collaborating cross-functionally with colleagues from across the Healthcare organization and externally with key stakeholders, you will research, specify, evaluate and enhance digital health programs to create, demonstrate and sustain value for patients, medical professionals, healthcare systems and our business.
You will:
Gather insight - Design and conduct studies & market research, analyse data, and extract insights to drive digital health strategies and inform intervention program design.Design intervention programs - Create digital health intervention programs that target health behaviours and outcomes of interest, using key theories, models and robust evidence.Evaluate and enhance solutions – Generate evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of intervention programs that power in-market digital health solutions and propose data-driven updates.Inspire and scale impact – As a subject matter leader, enhance the team’s understanding and application of behavioral science, health psychology and user-centered design principles to drive the objectives of our digital health solutions.Collaborate and learn - Participate in projects, meetings, presentations, and workshops with multi-disciplinary colleagues worldwide. You will also be involved in wider efforts to conceptualise, develop, launch, and optimise our digital health solutions.Delivering on the Merck Healthcare business priorities, you will play a critical role in driving the Global Digital Health mission to create, demonstrate and sustain value. This role uses behavioral science to unlock the potential impact of digital health solutions to augment, differentiate and increase accessibility of the medicines marketed by Merck, across all therapeutic areas in the company’s portfolio. You will work with a high-impact culture mindset on projects responding to the needs, challenges and strategic priorities of our research & development, medical and marketing organisations. This role is also expected to be a subject matter expert leader, inspiring others and upskilling the organization in behavioral science.
Who you are
You hold a PhD in behavioral science, health psychology, or a relevant advanced degree in the health sciences or engineering field may be considered with demonstratable experience in behavioral science.You bring 10+ years of experience designing, optimising and evaluating digital health interventions.Prior experience with holistic product design for digital health solutions is an asset: planning and conducting user research, building value proposition and features, rapid prototyping, iterating designs efficiently.You embrace Agile principles, Design Thinking methods and know how to build solutions that realise impactful behavioral change.You ideally have experience working in the medical device field, in conducting clinical studies, and/or in the pharmaceutical business.You are fluent in English (verbal and written). Additional languages are an asset.You are an excellent communicator to internal and external stakeholders.You are a team player with excellent emotional intelligence, as well as the ability to navigate in a matrix organization.You are a charismatic leader, capable of spreading your expertise and passion for behavioral science throughout the team.You design solutions with an empathetic and patient-directed approach.You are open to travel (approximately 10%). The position could be done remotely, under conditions to be evaluated together.
