What will your new challenge look like?
You will play a vital role in ensuring customs and trade compliance for Siemens companies operating in countries and aligning with legal entities at the country level. You will serve as the point of contact for customs matters and collaborates with local internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective customs management.Additionally, the Country Customs Responsible governs and ensures the implementation of Customs policies, guidelines, processes and, where applicable, authorizations within the dedicated organization, optimizing processes in compliance with local customs laws. You will report to the country Head of Tax & Customs as country manager, and to the Head of Lead Country Bundle France as functional manager. She/he will coordinate Customs topics with the support of local associates in Luxemburg, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.
What are your responsibilities?
Ensure implementation, execution and maintenance of a local customs governance strategy and trade compliance legal monitoring. Perform internal and external Customs reporting (Intrastat, CBAM,…). Ensure adherence to the Corporate Customs Strategy, Principles & Organization, as defined in the Siemens Internal Control Program (Global ICP CUS), including: Customs Responsibilities, Organization & RolesMergers & Acquisitions / ICP Implementation Roadmap / Carve OutTraining and competence managementCustoms Landscape & Optimization ProcessIT Policy & SolutionsCustoms AuditsRisk Management & Internal MonitoringCommunication in Customs MattersCustoms Security Programs Deploy a local customs strategy that is consistent with the Global ICP CUS Customs Regulations & Guidelines, as well as the Global customs strategy, and addresses key topics such as the following to ensure compliance with the established global framework: Nomenclature & Classification of GoodsCustoms ValuationOriginCustoms Clearance ProcessBroker ManagementCustoms IT solutions Actively participate as a dynamic member of the Global Customs Community, engaging in Country Exchange Sessions, Regional Customs Boards, and Global Collaboration Calls. Provide valuable insight and expertise, as a customs subject matter expert, in discussions and interactions organized by the International Customs Advisory & Countries function at HQ. Collaborate with legal entities to enhance customs compliance practices at the country level. Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for streamlined customs management. Serve as the primary customs contact, ensuring strict adherence to local regulations.What are your skills?
A 5-year experience on the trade compliance/customs field is required, or on similar roles related to the international flow of goods Expertise regarding customs regulations and trade compliance. Language requirements (both written and oral): Dutch or French fluent (with a good knowledge of the other language) and EnglishHi Team Player!
