Location Description Hawks Cay Resort, an iconic destination resort in the Florida Keys, reopened in August 2018 following a $50 million renovation. A recipient of the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award and a member of the Preferred Hotel Group Lifestyle Collection, this 60-acre, tropical destination boasts 177 guestrooms and 250 two • and three-bedroom villas, a full-service marina, six restaurants, saltwater lagoon, five swimming pools, kid and teen clubs and spa. Overview JOB SUMMARY: Ensure 1) bellmen/ valet on duty are meeting and greeting guests and visitors upon their arrival in a warm, friendly and courteous manner at all times. 2) They are stationed according to resort policy; opening car doors when possible and loading and unloading luggage as needed in the prescribed manner. 3) Ensure vehicle are parked and retrieved safely while maintaining correct parking pattern. Perform bellman duties in the absence of bellman or as needed. Assist checking guests into and out of their rooms, explaining the resort’s facilities and room amenities during this process. Assist in valet vehicles in absence of valet crew member, and insuring vehicles have been park correctly and securely. Become fully familiar with all equipment and amenities found in the guest rooms and are prepared to answer questions. Provide courteous guest service, responding promptly to guest questions, complaints or requests, always remembering that a bellman is a guest's first and last impression. Deliver guest mail and messages as requested. Become fully familiar with the resort's outlets and services available to the guests. Become fully familiar with: outside services, restaurants, shops, entertainment, attractions, transportation, etc., but remembering to recommend and promote resort services first. Provide airport and other transportation as needed for guests. Provide security to the Lobby, Front Desk and guest rooms. Become fully familiar with the resorts seasonal and various package rates. Notify the Front Desk Manager of any suspicious actions by a guest or visitor. Maintain the lobby and front drive in a neat and orderly manner. Become fully familiar with all resort policies and regulations. Provide training duties as requested by the Front Office Manager. Provides other services as requested by the Front Office Manager or the General Manager. Responsible for the daily maintenance of resort tram and golf carts assigned to bell team. Ensuring gas tanks are filled and vehicles are clean and in a constant state of readiness. Be totally familiar with the resort's FIRE AND OTHER EMERGENCY PROCEDURES. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma, preferably with some college or technical training. One year's experience as a Bell Captain or at least two years experience as a Bellman. Must speak English, knowledge of foreign languages (Spanish, German, and French) will be considered a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Bell Captain must be in excellent physical condition, capable of lifting, loading and carrying heavy suitcases, boxes and equipment. Applicants should be able to stand for long periods of time and to walk many miles per day. In the case of elevator failure, Bell Captain and/or bellman may have to carry luggage up and down stairways
