The team you'll be part of
Nokia Bell Labs is the world-renowned research group of Nokia, having invented many of the foundational technologies that underpin information and communications networks and all digital devices and systems. This research has produced nine Nobel Prizes, five Turing Awards and numerous other awards.
Solutions and Experiences Creation in Bell labs Solutions Research creates end-to-end solutions and experiences by turning research into practical systems.
The broad research focus areas in the team include Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Industrial Automation, and Operational Technology (OT) systems. The team conducts research in the area of advanced AI/ML techniques to optimize, automate, and enhance industrial processes and systems in the context of Industry 5.0.
Our international team based primarily in Budapest, Hungary, Murray Hill, USA, and Antwerp, Belgium.
The ideal candidate:
Enjoys researching and creatively designing new algorithms and implementing early prototypes of new technologies on the intersection of OT and AI/ML. Loves to code and can solve complex problems. Has experience / has been involved in creating and delivering automation and OT application prototypes. Has strong ability to work within teams with excellent interpersonal skills and written/verbal communication skills.You have:
PhD or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Control Systems Engineering, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, or a related field. Relevant multi-year work or academic experience in OT software projects, data engineering. Experience with programming languages popular for AI/ML and web systems programming (like Python, Java, JavaScript). Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new technologies.It would be nice if you also had:
Post PhD research or industry experience in automation, OT technology, and knowledge of industrial protocols like OPC-UA, MQTT.What you will learn and contribute to
As a member of the team, you will focus on researching, architecting, and building OT systems using machine-learning and natural language processing – it is a unique opportunity to work with future technologies developed at Bell Labs research.
You will work closely with the global Bell Labs research community, external academic and industrial partners, as well as with Nokia business units and the venture incubation teams.
