Benefits Administration Analyst I
What You'll Do Principal is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Benefits Administration Analyst I in our eBenefits Edge department! You will use your analytical, collaborative, and communication skills to provide online benefit administration support services to meet the needs of clients. Here are some examples of the kinds of things you'll do: Build and maintains designated online benefit administration systems. Assist with quality assurance process to ensure data integrity and data validity. Complete programming of data import/export processes and assist with the distribution of files to vendors. Maintain accurate documentation via work request management tools. Provide basic administrative support of work request system. Consult with Benefits Admin Analysts to identify and resolve root causes of issues. Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required. Who You Are Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 1+ years of Benefits, HR, insurance carrier, application development, or related experience. Preferably has worked with some type of Benefit Administration system. Working knowledge of benefit plans and benefits administration a plus. Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, carriers, system implementation leaders, other analysts, and programmers. Technically adept, intermediate Excel/data analysis skills. Strong planning and decision-making skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and big picture/conceptual skills. Ability to work with people at all levels, including outside consultants and vendors, and be able to influence others without formal authority. Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $54000 - $121200 / year Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible Yes Additional Information Job level We’ll consider talent at the Benefits Administration Analyst II level with the right experience and skills. To be considered at the level II, the following qualifications are needed: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with 2+ years of Benefits, HR, insurance carrier, multiple application development, or related experience preferred. Expert data analysis/Excel skills preferred. Preferably has worked with some type of Benefit Administration system. Strong working knowledge of benefit plans and benefits administration required. Work Environment This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
