**Description** :
The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation and client service for the Enterprise’s benefits and retirement programs. This role combines technical skills, industry knowledge, and interpersonal skills to communicate with external vendors and provide excellent customer service to our employees.
**Essential Job Functions:**
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
**Duties and Responsibilities** :
+ Serves as primary daily contact for internal employees and external providers to resolve benefit-related issues, responding to queries and requests in a timely manner
+ Supports daily benefits processing, including but not limited to: file processing with our benefits administration system, processing rehires, COBRA documentation, benefits classification changes, claims processing questions, QMCSOs, file submissions for 401(k), and Commuter benefits review
+ Administers spending accounts and retirement plans, including timely submission and processing of deposits and elections, reconciling plan and payroll data, and researching and correcting discrepancies
+ Documents, maintains, and evaluates administrative procedures and internal controls for assigned benefits plans to improve efficiency, ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, and generate timely and accurate reports
+ Maintains and creates files, records, reports, and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and provider regulations, reviews and addresses data exceptions for vendor files, ensures inbound payroll files and retro deductions are processed accurately and in a timely manner, and organizes data for actuarial assessments and plan audits
+ Assists in the design and distribution of benefits communications materials given to employees for benefits enrollment
+ Provides training and support to employees and external client staff as needed

**Education and Experience:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, finance, or related field required
+ At least 2 years' experience as a benefits administrator or a similar role required
+ Proficiency with Microsoft products (especially Excel), HRIS platforms, and benefits databases required
+ Knowledge of U.S. federal and state regulations affecting employee benefits programs, both adopted and pending, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, Section 125, and DOL required
+ Ability to work effectively in both a team environment and independently with minimal supervision
**Location: In office.**
Hybrid/Remote option may be considered with Management approval.
**Travel Requirements:** Less than 5% (almost no travel)
**Physical Demands:** The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:
Frequent: Sitting, walking, eye/hand/foot coordination and repetitive motion.
Occasional: Standing and bending.
Infrequent: Lifting up to 10 pounds.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
Salary Range for this role:
$60,000—$80,000 USD
