Benefits Analyst
**Job Type:** Regular **Time Type:** Full time **Work Shift:** Day (United States of America) **FLSA Status:** Exempt **When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.** Reporting to the Manager, Benefits, the Benefits Analyst is responsible for tracking and analyzing data related to the administration of BILH benefit plans, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and other benefit programs, ensuring consistency with plan documents and provider contracts. As a member of the Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) Benefits team, the Benefits Analyst provides benefit administration support to our expansive employee population, with a strong focus on data integrity and HRIS system administration. This role will interact with all levels of staff, helping employees navigate through BILH’s comprehensive benefit programs and enrollment systems. Working closely with the Sr. Benefits Analysts, this role is critical to ensuring a positive experience for our employees by ensuring the accuracy of benefit data as it relates to enrollment, transmission of data to benefit vendors, premium deductions in partnership with payroll, and system configuration in partnership with HRIS. This is a hybrid role, working primarily remotely with monthly in-office requirement at the BILH System Center located in Charlestown, MA. Additional on-site days may be required during the annual Open Enrollment period each Fall. **Job Description:** Essential Duties & Responsibilities: + Partner with the BILH HR Service Center to triage employee benefit inquiries, identify patterns to address widespread issues, and provide guidance on benefit-related questions and concerns. + Process employee benefit changes in Workday, ensuring accuracy of enrollment data in accordance with plan rules. + Research and resolve complex Workday enrollment and payroll deduction errors, ensuring the accuracy of employee elections and data transmitted to benefit vendors. + Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and project-based system audits to identify and resolve issues as they arise. + Uphold BILH policies, state and federal policies and laws, and protect PII/PHI during daily benefits administration, including annual regulatory filings. + Participate in Annual Open Enrollment planning and execution, including Workday testing with HRIS department, attending Open Enrollment fairs across the BILH hospital system, and performing year-end system audits. + Support Sr. Benefits Analysts to perform system testing and audits, identifying issues and need for changes with the configuration of benefits modules. + Communicate Benefits Department process and policy updates to internal and external stakeholders. + Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal BILH partners and external vendors and collaborate to identify opportunities for process improvement. + Process and track benefits related claims and invoices, including life insurance claims, premium billing, and others as needed. + Research and resolve enrollment, billing, and claim issues, collaborating with vendors as necessary. + Supports the benefits department and performs related duties and projects as assigned. **Organizational Requirements:** • Maintain strict adherence to the Beth Israel Beth Israel Lahey Health Confidentiality policy. • Incorporate Beth Israel Beth Israel Lahey Health Standards of Behavior and Guiding Principles into daily activities. • Comply with all Beth Israel Beth Israel Lahey Health Policies. • Comply with behavioral expectations of the department and Beth Israel Beth Israel Lahey Health. • Maintain courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients. • Demonstrate an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment. • Demonstrate a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adhering to Customer Service standards. • Participate in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities. • Participate in and successfully complete Mandatory Education. • Perform all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department. **Minimum Qualifications:** Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required Experience:2-3 years related work experience with 1+ years benefits administration. Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Excel functionality. ExperiencePreferred Qualifications & Skills: with HRIS databases required. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Strong system administration and reporting skills. Strong critical thinking, problem solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Knowledge of benefits concepts, practices, policies, and laws. Strong communication and project management skills. Workday experience preferred.
