The Opportunity:
As benefits analyst you will ensure compliance with Benefit Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) in processing benefits elections and Canadian labor laws for Leave of Absences (LOAs) and workplace accommodations.
You will audit benefits, plan eligibility and participant data, resolve discrepancies in payroll and record-keeping, and ensure accurate integrations.
You will work closely with People and Culture, auditors, finance, accounting, payroll, legal, and senior management on audits, filings, and plan valuations.
You will be the subject matter expert for leave programs and accommodations under the People relations and Resources (PR&R) Team's guidance.
You will communicate with employees, Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP), People Relations, and Managers regarding LOA status, return to work, and accommodations.
You will resolve inquiries within the People Support Services (PSS)service level agreement.
You will prepare detailed reports on wealth, health, LOA, and life benefits program data, perform audits, ensure system integrity, and provide statistics and trending reports.
Who you are
You will have a minimum college degree or equivalent experience; 3+ years in a similar customer-facing role.
You will have extensive knowledge of Canadian employment laws and advanced Excel skills.
You will have experience in a shared service center, preferably in P&C services, and proven ability to deliver in a matrix organization.
You will have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment, balancing multiple priorities.
Previous experience with tools like Workday, SunLife, and ManuLife are highly preferred
