POSITION IS HYBRID - Onsite 3 Days/Off Site 2 Days

             

The Benefits Analyst supports effective benefits decisions by providing analytical support to include researching, analyzing, evaluating, and administering benefit plans and programs for the University. This role ensures benefits offerings are communicated appropriately to employees.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS        

1.    Provides customer support for benefit programs through direct employee contact, and interfacing with external vendors and internal resources related to benefits. 
2.    Administers benefit plans such as 403(b) and 457(b) plans, traditional pension plans, and all health, and welfare plans. 
3.    Researches and resolves benefit-related issues and recommends solutions or alternate methods to ensure effective benefit operations. 
4.    Identifies opportunities for operational improvements and works with various multi-functional project teams to implement identified changes. 
5.    Researches and analyzes benefits programs, including cost and utilization.
6.    Assists with open enrollment by providing employee guidance and facilitating employee education sessions, webinars, and Q&A forums.
7.    Respond to ongoing and ad hoc management information reporting needs in support of Benefits; ensure availability and accuracy of needed information while obtaining through the most efficient means. 
8.    Collaborates with Finance and Payroll teams to ensure accurate deductions, contributions, and payroll processing related to benefit elections.
9.    Assists with developing benefit communication materials in coordination with internal and external resources to support the promotion of benefits value. 
10.  Assists with developing various PowerPoint presentations for benefit education sessions. 
11.  Performs ad hoc project work as directed.
12.  Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field

Experience:
Entry level position- 1-2 years of experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

•    Proficiency in computer software expert user in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint

•    Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
•    Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
•    Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
•    Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
•    Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
•    Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
