Benefits and Leaves Specialist
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Benefits and Leaves Specialist in San Francisco, California. The role involves managing global leave of absence (LOA) processes and administering Health & Wellness programs for a team supporting up to 700 employees. The industry is fast-paced and requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual. Responsibilities: • Oversee workflows and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company leave policies. • Act as the primary contact for employee and manager inquiries related to Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Workers' Compensation, and other leave types. • Administer Health & Wellness programs, including resolving vendor-related issues and conducting audits for compliance and eligibility. • Implement and manage transitions between systems like Sparrow and Cocoon. • Utilize HR/payroll platforms such as UKG (UltiPro) for managing LOA, Benefits, and ADA. • Maintain records and process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Requirements • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably as a Benefits and Leaves Specialist. • Demonstrable expertise in Benefit Functions, including planning, development, and implementation. • Proven experience in Benefits Administration, including managing employee benefits programs and liaising with benefits providers. • Proficiency in Benefits Coordination, ensuring that all aspects of benefit programs are effectively managed and communicated to employees. • Strong knowledge and experience in Leave Administration, including management of all types of employee leaves. • Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits and leaves. • Excellent communication skills to effectively explain benefits packages and leave policies to employees. • Strong analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of benefit programs and recommend improvements. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong team spirit and work ethics.
