GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist the Benefit team with the timely collection, review and entry of benefit elections. Provide general support to employees with regard to their benefits.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
• Assist employees with general benefit related questions, escalate issues to Benefits Coordinator • Assist with union benefit enrollment support (New Hire, Recall, Annual Enrollment, Qualified Status Changes) • Collect and organize new elections or qualified change forms • Ensure all supporting dependent or qualified status change documentation has been provided by employees for applicable health and welfare elections. Then prepare all documentation for submission to TPA, Carrier or Trust • Track enrollments and prepare follow up notices and ensure distribution to employees (i.e. missing enrollment, missing documentation, non-payment coverage drop) • Assist payroll with final check benefit deduction calculations for terminating and seasonal employees • Track LOA self payments and identify missed payments. Work with Benefits Coordinator on associated ADP entries. • Identify end of eligibility period for employees on LOA. Work with Benefits Coordinator on associated ADP entries. • Provide confirmation of enrollment information when necessary • Process medical support orders and agency requests for benefits information • Run census reporting and validation • Assist with benefit related communication distribution • Prepare basic benefit reports as requested • Provide back up support for Benefits Coordinator for time sensitive fundings and calculations • Other duties as assigned.
