Benefits Associate -- Compensation and Benefits -- General-419 Brooks St.

Job Summary

Assists the Corporate Director of Total Compensation in designing, implementing, evaluating and administering all phases of all benefit programs for CAMC Health System. Ensures CAMC Health System is compliant with all state and federal regulations governing benefits.

 

Responsibilities

• Administer all phases of all benefit plans including recordkeeping for all participants' account balances, contributions and interest allocations; processing loans; processing benefit payouts; counseling terminating and retiring participants; providing required data for decision making, and handling necessary communication and detail work for assigned benefits. • Administer retiree programs including monthly mailings, premium collection, and any other programs that are initiated. Maintains current mailing list for retirees. • Maintain a system of ongoing benefit analysis, ensuring that CAMC remains at an appropriate level of competitiveness for all positions. • Compile and analyze local, regional, and national benefit data for assigned positions. • Initiate analysis on specific benefits as indicated by the market data or as required otherwise. • Provide the Director and/or Manager with recommendations to address any Benefit Plan concerns on a routine basis. • Perform complex analysis on information gathered from surveys and other information collected in order to develop recommendations for the development, revision and maintenance of CAMC Health System's Benefit programs. • Present HRU programs for department managers aimed at promoting the understanding and application of regulations concerning all benefits practices and policies. Continuously update HR University information content and examples as the business needs require. • Maintain a thorough understanding of all relevant company policies which affect benefits maintenance, including, but not limited to, compensation, discipline and payroll policies. • Serve as primary contact when questions arise concerning benefits corrections, and policies and procedures. • Responsible for the development/maintenance of specific benefit programs for various institutions and organizations with which CAMC has entered into contractual agreement to provide management services. • Participate as an active member on assigned teams to accomplish department, Human resources, and system goals. • Budgetary responsibility for assigned service lines.

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients. Competency Statement Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist. Perform related duties as assigned.

 

Education 

• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Experience: 3 years benefit related experience Substitution: Masters Degree and 2 years related experience OR Bachelors, with 2 years related experience plus applicable professional certification may substitute for Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience
