Job Summary:
Performance Mechanical Inc., a leading industrial contractor specializing in mechanical construction and maintenance, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Benefits Coordinator and Payroll Clerk to join our team. This dual-role position involves managing employee benefits programs and assisting with payroll processing to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely compensation and benefits administration.

Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 - $32.00/hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities:

Benefits Administration:

Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans. Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries and provide timely, accurate information to employees. Process enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefits plans, ensuring accuracy in all documentation and systems. Conduct regular audits of benefits data to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Coordinate annual open enrollment, including preparing materials, hosting informational sessions, and assisting employees with selections. Handle leave administration, including FMLA, disability, and workers’ compensation claims, ensuring proper documentation and compliance. Prepare and submit required reports such as ACA, EEO, and AAP reports.

Payroll Processing:

Process of weekly payroll for employees. Verify employee time records and ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions. Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes to employee information. Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management as needed. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax reporting and garnishments. Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Education: Associate's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Experience: 2-3 years of experience in benefits administration and payroll processing or similar roles. Skills: Strong knowledge of benefits programs and payroll regulations (e.g., ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FLSA, and tax codes). Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Certifications: SHRM-CP, PHR, CPP, or CEBS certification is a plus.
