General Summary

As a member of the Americas Benefits Team, you will manage U.S. workers’ compensation along with occupational and non-occupational leave and time-off programs across the U.S., Canada and Latin America, ensuring compliance with regulations and effective coordination of employee cases. This role requires frequent collaboration with multiple functional areas across the organization as well as external vendor partners.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Manages all workers’ compensation claims post-intake to resolution, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.Collaborates with Employee Relations, Safety, and Legal regarding return to work (RTW) strategies and policies; assists injured employees in their transition back to work.Monitors compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to workers’ compensation; recommends corrective actions to mitigate risks.Oversees leave of absence and time-off programs and policies for U.S., Canada and Latin America. Ensures compliance with existing and upcoming state-specific time-off and leave requirements; understands employee and/or employer contribution requirements, if applicable; explores private plan opportunities.Regularly benchmarks programs to ensure market competitiveness and explores opportunities to improve/update existing programs; proposes plan design updates and drafts related policies as needed in conjunction with other stakeholders.Establishes and analyzes metrics to identify trends, performance, and areas of improvement.Leads vendor performance reviews and marketing and partners with other internal stakeholders on vendor implementations and contracting.Develops strong partnerships and collaborates closely with internal and external partners (TPAs, brokers, physicians, and vendors) and provides guidance and support.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of Workers’ Compensation, Benefits, Human Resources, or related work experience.
                                                                                OR
Associate's degree and 9+ years of Workers’ Compensation, Benefits, Human Resources, or related work experience.
                                                                                OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 11+ years of Workers’ Compensation, Benefits, Human Resources, or related work experience.5+ years of U.S. workers’ compensation management experience with strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, particularly FMLA, ADA, FEHA, HIPAA and California leave and workers' compensation laws, regulations, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

BA/BS degree, preferably in Human Resources, Risk Management or other similar field, or completion of a related Certificate program.WCCA, WCCP, CLMS certification.3+ years of experience managing non-occupational leave and time off programs including but not limited to vacation, sick time, parental leave, medical leave, caregiver leave.3+ years of experience managing a California Voluntary Disability Income Plan, including state filings, rate setting and reserve analysis.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$128,000.00 - $192,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
