The HR Manager - Benefits is responsible for managing the administration of all employee benefits and works closely with direct manager to develop and execute the Benefits strategy. This position acts as the primary contact for all tasks and issues as they relate to benefit plans and handles inquiries, both complex and routine, from internal and external participants. They ensure that thorough audits, reports and transactions are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Work closely with direct manager on the implementation, ongoing delivery and strategic direction of corporate benefit plans, including health, dental, vision and retirement benefits; Acts as primary contact for the Bank Responsible for submission and participation in area and industry surveys. Analyzes results of surveys and develops specific recommendations for review by management Work closely with direct manager to develop specifications for new plans or modifies existing plans to: maintain company's competitive position in labor market, and obtain uniform benefit package for all company locations, where possible Oversee the development and submission of annual census data for vendor renewal and solicit competitive quotes to evaluate and make recommendations Work closely with direct manager and Benefits broker to assist in making recommendations and develop company cost information for new plans and assist in making recommendations to management concerning sharing of cost between employer and employee Implement approved plans and changes by preparing communication material, booklets, and other media for communicating new plans to employees during open enrollment and throughout year as necessary Develop, maintain and deliver employee webinars as communication resource during open enrollment and onboarding. Revise and distribute all communications materials Responsible for resolving complex benefit situations in a professional, courteous and confidential manner Ensure company compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Supervises preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies Responsible for staying current on changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits

High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree a plus Professional certification strongly preferred Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in the Benefits area with a strong working knowledge required, preferably in a mid to senior level role Minimum two (2) years of direct management of staff required Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required Must demonstrate a strong ability to prioritize work, balance the needs of the various managers and ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to interact well with employees of all levels Ability to demonstrate a positive and effective demeanor during stressful situations Ability to travel as business needs arise, some overnight travel may be required Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism is essential
