Benefits & Wellbeing Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Benefits and Wellbeing Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, compliance and administration of the Company’s Benefit and Wellbeing plans. Supervises the benefits and wellbeing team. Works with internal staff and external providers to ensure the accuracy and timely flow of eligibility and enrollment data. Provides and directs team in customer service to active and former associates, answering benefits questions, resolving problems, and explaining the health and welfare, life and disability, dental, vision, flexible spending and health savings accounts and voluntary plans. Monitors the correct configuration and proper functioning of the Workday benefits tenant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supervises the benefits and wellbeing team completion of assigned responsibilities in carrier billing, unemployment support, medical orders, member services, and other benefit and wellbeing related tasks.  Develops or assists in developing appropriate procedures.  Provides guidance, coaching, training and direction.Develops and prepares comprehensive benefit and wellbeing communications for plans regarding open enrollment, wellbeing initiatives and associates benefit questions and concerns; resolves moderately complex associate issues or escalates concerns that cannot be resolved by the team.Regularly meets and works with vendors and/or broker to ensure high level of customer service delivery within plan documents and contractual agreements.  Communicates with external benefit vendors regarding benefit programs, plans, procedures, government mandated disclosures and resolution of member issues.Analyzes benefits and wellbeing data to make recommendations on benefit administration, compliance and communications.Analyzes eligibility and enrollment data and addresses complex issues and compliance concerns. Coordinates resolution with HRIS and IT integrations when needed. Works with benefit broker to evaluate current and determine new benefit offerings and vendor providers.Works with benefits broker to establish annual funding levels for self-insured health and dental plans.Works with HRIS, IT, and vendors to ensure data integrity and appropriate reporting.Oversees and establishes processes to maintain compliance of Health and Welfare, Life and Disability, Dental, Vision, FSA and HSA, and other benefits for all outfitters.  Initiates and closes individual and mass benefit actions to properly administer eligibility and enrollment per plan rules.Gathers data and researches member issues and makes determinations within plan parameters. Makes recommendations for exceptions or special handling when required.Executes the annual open enrollment process and other benefit projects, such as vendor fairs, special campaigns, and other related duties as assigned. Continuously researches and monitors industry trends, regulations and best practices related to employee benefits and wellbeing.  Proactively identifies opportunities to improve the company’s Benefits and Wellbeing offerings based on new trends and employee needs.Performs other duties as assigned by management.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required:  Bachelors level equivalent in HR, Business or a related fieldCertificate(s) or License(s): Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) coursework or certification is a plusExperience: Minimum of 5 years in benefit related administration with staff supervision preferred.

Knowledge of benefit and wellbeing plan administration, plan design and complianceIn depth knowledge of the Workday benefit administration tenantExcellent computer skills, specifically spreadsheets and word processingProven ability in providing leadership to associates working in a fast-paced environment along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA protected personal health information and privacy dataAnalytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment, attention to detail and problem resolutionStrong customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with employees and external vendorsAbility to analyze and resolve administrative problems and concerns

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional travel to other regional Bass Pro work sites or for related vendor visits or conferences. Typically, not exceeding 2 to 4 times per year.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly performs computer work and sits.Occasionally walks and stands.Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
