SUMMARY OF JOB SUMMARY OF JOB: The Bereavement Coordinator is responsible for managing and directing all bereavement activities to include: developing and implementing an individualized plan of care for each client, implementing bereavement support programs for all clients and community residents, planning and overseeing an annual Memorial Service, tracking and making all bereavement contacts, developing and assisting in the development of a grief and bereavement education and support for Holy Redeemer employees. A primary way staff connect to our mission is by collaborating with all team members in promoting an environment that provides quality, compassionate, holistic, patient-centered care and supports all internal and external customers RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in social work, chaplaincy certification, bereavement counselor certification, counseling degree, or other related education and experience that would demonstrate the ability to meet the requirements as a Bereavement Coordinator. Prior experience with hospice is strongly preferred. Excellent communication skills and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to deal with bereaved families and the strong emotional issues surrounding death and dying. LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver’s license.
