Bereavement Coordinator - Hospice
Our Company Hospice of the Midwest Overview This position will serve as a dual role of Bereavement and Volunteer Coordinator. Our Hospice Bereavement Coordinators are the heart of our organization who support patients by planning, implementing and maintaining a bereavement program to meet the needs of families/caregivers. Our comprehensive benefits include: + Medical and dental benefits + Short- and long-term disability + Life insurance + Paid time off + 401(k) program + Flexible Spending Account (FSA) + Employee Assistance Program (EAP) + Vendor discounts Responsibilities + Coordinate the assessment and delivery of grief counseling needs and services to ensure timely and appropriate services are provided + Plan for Bereavement Program development, expansion and refinement through annual evaluation of services + Provide bereavement support to hospice personnel coping with work-related grief + Provide bereavement information and referral services to callers from the community + Participate in interdisciplinary group meetings + Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements + Additional responsibilities as assigned Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent theological degree or Master’s degree in Social Work with qualifications of experience clinical grief counseling + Understanding of grief response and experience with counseling individuals and/or groups in loss + Experience with death and dying + Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care About our Line of Business At Hospice of the Midwest, our primary ambition is to bring first-class care to the warmest and most serene environment possible: home.
