\nThe BESS Solution Offering Manager is a key member of the Battery Energy Storage Systems vertical at Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) and reports to Director, Energy Management Portfolio. This role is primarily responsible for product management including planning, strategy, development and proposal of BESS solutions. This includes understanding internal and external customer needs, market trends and potential growth opportunities in FTM and BTM segments along with the respective product requirements; the selection of suppliers based on future market needs, i.e domestic content, innovative technologies, etc; and the business development aspects of the BESS product, such as timelines, cross-functional collaboration, process related deliverables i.e document releases, collaboration with sales and marketing for customer presentations, event participation, leadership presentations, forecasts and product readiness reviews. Additionally, the BESS Solution Offering Manager, should have a clear and precise understanding of varying market needs depending on the region and must be able to identify product requirement for C&I segments.
\nSpecific Job Activities Include:
\n\nDevelop product strategy and roadmap.\nDefine, maintain, and interpret product requirement related to battery energy storage systems including product configurations.\nCreate/modify product requirements based on product feedback and lesson learned from engineering, manufacturing, sales, project delivery and services. \nWork with teams worldwide to analyze requirements and find commonalities and differences in local and regional requirements.\nDevelop business case for investments and gain internal approval, including new product, new component, new technology, new manufacturing and new supplier investments, etc.\nWork collaboratively with cross-functional engineering and NPI program teams in day-to-day problem solving, enabling teams to successfully progress towards targets and ensure delivery of program milestones aligning with business requirements.\nDrive implementation of cross functional portfolio development for the new energy management BTI.\nDrive new product introductions through release process. Responsible for milestone reviews of the release process. Verify product deliverables against product requirements.\nProduct development and execution of offering solutions.\nOwn product-level cost models and coordination with product cost management team to achieve competitive cost positions while balancing functionality and compliance needs.\nResponsible for product/component cost and configurations in product standard offering guidance. \nEnsure product documentation development aligns with customer’s project development needs and expectations.\nSupport customer engagement and development of relationships with key clients.\nDevelop core positioning and messaging for the product.\nProvide contents for product marketing to develop marketing collateral, such as product specifications, data sheets, key applications, etc.\nIdentify opportunities to increase customer value through joint hardware, software, controls, services and analytics work.\nMonitor technology trends and identify opportunities to bring in new technologies and investments.\nBenchmark competitor’s products and offerings and communicate to team.\nOptimize prioritization of development activities of product requirements to maximize Honeywell’s competitive differentiation.\nSupport regional sales and marketing teams in customer conversations around BESS.\nAdvise on partnership and M&A strategy including participating in due diligence discussions.\nUnderstand lithium-ion and other battery technologies (i.e: NMC, LFP, LMFP, LiS, Na-ion, etc.) and industry practices to provide guidance to the organization on the application of technology.\nUnderstand and advise on the role of inverters and power control system technology in BESS projects.\nContribute to and help maintain technical specifications of our offerings.\nMentor other less experienced staff and provide support and guidance to project teams.\nMaintain knowledge of applicable codes & standards and certifications in the energy storage and renewable industry.\nMust Have:
\n\n5+ years’ experience in product management, energy storage or related role, with a BS in a technical field such as engineering.\nProven track record of successfully managing, developing and launching product offerings.\nDemonstrated effectiveness in leading engineering teams to achieve ambitious targets.\nPassion for using data and statistics to drive decision-making.\nDemonstrates sound business judgment.\nTakes individual initiative and works with minimal supervision while being a collaborative team player.\nStrong leadership and people management skills.\nWorks dynamically, across multiple teams and projects concurrently, in a technical and business environment.\nPossesses an entrepreneurial drive for getting things done and a “whatever it takes” attitude.\n\nAdditional skills:
