Job Summary

A Designer Level I exhibits proven solution design ability with aptitude to continuously develop their skills and provide best in class support to IFF clients. Continues to extend knowledge of ingredients, customer bases, processes and flavor interactions in associated Category applications while developing project planning ability. A Designer Level I works independently on assigned projects and collaboratively on large and must-win projects (may vary based on business needs).

We are hiring a Beverage Designer I, Citrus to join our team at the new Citrus Innovation Center in Lakeland, Florida.

Your Focus
 

As a Beverage Designer, you will support the team during product development work and support Citrus R&D & Innovation.  In our cutting-edge Citrus Innovation Center, you will provide technical services within the IFF multi-functional citrus team.   This position responds to the innovation needs of the business and its execution as well as opportunities for development and mentorship.

How you will Contribute

You will work as part of a highly experienced team with diverse on exciting projects within citrus food applications.IFF expects you to cultivate innovation and creativity ensuring the successful launches of our new product lines.You work both independently and as a team member, on all types of internal development briefs.  You will provide mainly beverage, but also food development support, working closely with the cross-category teams on a global level to drive the creation and modification of innovative designs and flavors.You will demonstrate creativity in working with a global team to maximize IFF technology & innovative practices.You will learn strong finished product knowledge with excellent problem-solving abilities, as part of a cross-functional team focusing on product, project, or innovation developments.You work out product formulations and demos using knowledge of industrial standards, and country-specific, and market requirements.Anticipates, investigates, and resolves problems related to raw materials, solutions, finished prototypes, and initial scale-up procedures.You support sensorial testing in basic solutions as well as in finished product applications, including running sensory stability protocols.You will ensure your activities are in line with IFF policies, and Global Innovation Rules as well as safety, hygiene, and efficient day-to-day operations of the Beverage laboratory and facilities. Commitment to all company policies, rules, and regulations, IFF quality is an absolute must.

Job Requirements

Degree in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines (such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Human Nutrition)Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferred Master’s degree.Minimum 5 years experience in industrial food, ingredient, or flavor industry.Minimum 3 years experience in Beverage development and testing.Experience with Beverage sensory test protocols.Excellent English written and verbal communication and additional language are considered a plus.Comfortable with IT Systems and Applications.Logical, methodical, and analytical thought processes.Accuracy and attention to detail with agility to adapt to changing environments.Technical problem-solving skills with the ability to influence.Outstanding Team player with excellent Communication skillsThis position is considered an Anchor and requires working in the lab/pilot plant/office for 5 days/week.
