Job Summary

Aspire Explorations is a program of Mass General Brigham that serves teens and young adults with social cognition challenges, including Asperger’s Syndrome, High-Cognitive Autism, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, and autism spectrum disorder that focuses on helping teens develop increased self-awareness, social competency, and stress management skills. The Explorations Program Manager (PM) is responsible for coordinating the administrative, clinical, and programmatic aspects of the program and managing the day-to-day operations of the program under the direction of the Aspire Manager of Group Programming. The tasks of the role include managing and supporting the development of up to 14 staff working with teens on the autism spectrum; implementing program curriculum; maintaining communication with families and accurate record keeping; developing and implementing the program schedule; the coordinating and implementing program policies and procedures. The PM works onsite at the program location in Newton and in the community during program outings.


 

Qualifications

1. Attend a 40-hour orientation, all staff meetings, trainings, supervision, planning sessions, and every day of the program as scheduled.   

2. Manage staff leading participant and family meetings, including orientation and parent conferences.

3.  Maintain the health and safety of program participants and staff at all times.

4. Participate as an active member of the leadership team focused on facilitating solutions for the range of issues that can develop related to individuals, groups, transportation, the environment, etc. 

5. Complete evaluation forms, incident reports, end-of-program reports, and other assigned paperwork in a timely manner.  Maintain records and documentation outlined in the Policies and Procedures manual.

6. Maintain the rules of confidentiality and all HIPAA expectations.

7. Work collaboratively with teen and adult leadership and take on a leadership role during staff trainings, including the organization and management of pre-program participant and family orientation.

8. Assist staff in developing and implementing therapeutic interventions, e.g. social stories, behavior support plans, etc. Work with staff in the planning and presentation of such lessons.

9. Work collaboratively with area agencies to ensure Aspire’s ongoing positive relationships with community, including school personnel, MGH staff, transportation personnel, Department of Public Health, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Degree: Master's Degree Field of Study: Enrolled in or graduate of a graduate program in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, or other mental health field.

Prior experience working with neurodivergent children and/or adolescents ☒ Required or ☐ Preferred


Have current First Aid/CPR certification. Training can be accessed through Aspire. ☒ Required or ☐ Preferred
