Job Summary

The Walgreens Program is an innovative program dedicated to increasing access to quality healthcare for historically marginalized communities in the Greater Boston area. The focus of the program is to bring the care to where the community can best access it. The Nurse Practitioner is an integral member of the team bringing these health care services which include, cardiometabolic screening/treatment, mental health evaluations, referral management for specialist follow-up (if needed), and patient education on condition management. This position allows the NP to meet the patient, where they are at, in their local environment to best directly assist them with their health care needs. The NP will partner with the Walgreens Pharmacist for prescription management and vaccination access.

Education
Master's Degree Nursing required
Walgreens NP runs several clinics each week across multiple locations that require set-up, staff management, and patient service. Because each clinic takes place in community locations with no immediate clinical back-up, it is vital that the NP is experienced and proficient at preventing or handling complex and/or emergency patient care problems.
• Will work closely with the Medical Director to develop and expand mobile health service offerings in the community. The Walgreens NP must have a curiosity about Community Health and be willing to explore new and innovative opportunities for providing service with the goal of overall improvement of health standards in our communities.
• Will report directly to the Medical Director for the Walgreens team and the Director of Advance Practice Providers for Primary Care.
• This is a hybrid role and will require working both in-person and remotely. Some Walgreens site clinics are scheduled during the evening and on weekends to provide greater access for community members who work during the day. Clinical Responsibilities Supervisory/Management Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following activities:
1. Provides oversight and supervision of the clinical members of the mobile team (ex. RN, MA, as well as interns, residents, and clinical volunteers).
2. Serves as a resource to staff in area(s) of expertise.
3. Trains new clinical staff, residents and volunteers on workflows, standard procedures, infection control, and safety guidelines.
4. Assists Medical Director in recruitment/hiring of clinical team members.
5. Develops operational protocols and data collection tools in collaboration with the Medical Director and Medical Director
6. Collaborates with Medical Director to ensure adequate clinical resources for each mobile clinic.
7. Participates in mobile team meetings; raises issues and communicates resolution to staff.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
