Job Summary
The Business Intelligence Analyst provides comprehensive management reports, metrics, operational dashboard and business intelligence support for the Health Information Management Team within Revenue Cycle Mid Service. This role involves working directly with executive sponsors, Revenue Cycle leadership, and staff to facilitate process control, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making. Responsibilities include extracting and analyzing data from various systems, maintaining a comprehensive reporting database and data dictionary, and constructing complex queries. The analyst will create and present regular and ad-hoc reports to ensure data quality, well-defined metrics, and support for ongoing management reviews.

Responsibilities*Characteristics, Duties, & Responsibilities:
Collaboration: Work with executive leadership, Revenue Cycle Mid-Service leadership, and staff to develop performance metrics, dashboards, and operational reports. Data Analysis: Utilize complex computer programs to mine data and identify trends. Write complex queries to extract data for reporting purposes (e.g., SQL, Epic Clarity, Oracle). Communication: Clearly communicate findings to stakeholders in both written and verbal forms, turning insights into actionable recommendations. Consultation: Identify reporting needs, gather requirements, and convert business needs into technical specifications and reporting solutions.Report Building: Build, test, and adjust reports to meet customer requirements. Create reports that integrate data from multiple sources. Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for reporting solutions. Data Integrity: Monitor data collection to ensure data integrity across systems. Compliance: Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and system improvements to ensure compliance with regulations. Regular Reporting: Prepare regular reports, such as financial summaries, quality reports, and activity statistics. Validation: Validate all reports to ensure accuracy. Performance Analysis: Lead the capture and analysis of data on operational performance and quality. Partnership: Partner with Health Information Technology and Services (HITS) to design, document, and coordinate application/setup testing. Implementation: Participate in the implementation of new processes and systems. Resource: Act as an expert resource, identifying issues and proposing innovative technological solutions for operational challenges. High Reliability Initiatives: Support these initiatives by developing and maintaining visual management boards. Leadership: Provide leadership and participate actively in departmental and institutional activities and programs. Change Management: Address change management issues related to the evolving revenue cycle and health information environment. Professional Relationships: Build and maintain professional relationships to promote mutual understanding and respect.Requirements Design: Design requirements, criteria, and metrics for health information analysis. Problem Analysis: Use High Reliability and Lean methodologies consistently for problem analysis and improvement.Process Improvement: Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and achieve departmental and institutional objectives.Required Qualifications*Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Experience: Minimum of five years in analyzing health information processes in clinical and business areas, and developing IT solutions.Skills:Strong analytical skills (math, statistics, quantitative methods)Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with executive leadership, management, and team members.Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment with frequently changing priorities.Proficiency in data manipulation and extraction techniques.Experience using SQL (minimum three years).SQL database development experience. (minimum three years)Experience creating reports and queries using tools such as Crystal Reports, Reporting, Business Objects, Tableau and SQL (minimum three years).Experience with clinical healthcare and financial data.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Crystal Reports.Desired Qualifications*Master's degree in a relevant field.Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)/RHIA certification or similar combination of education and experience.Knowledge of HIM data systems.Epic Clarity and HIM certification.Familiarity with programming languages, example: PythonExperience with Lean, PDCA, or other quality improvement methodologies.Licensure & CertificationCertifications (Preferred but not required):
Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP)Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA)Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)Candidate will need to obtain Epic Clarity data model proficiency or certification within six months from date of hire.
Modes of WorkMobile/Remote - the work requirements allow for the majority or all the work to be completed offsite. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
