Job Description

As a BI Engineer, your primary role will be to deliver business intelligence services, lead BI software development, and present Power BI reports. You will transform raw data into cohesive, valuable reports capturing meaningful business insights.

Duties and Responsibilities

Partner closely with internal stakeholders’ to understand business needs and gather requirements for data visualization and the development of business intelligence reportingAssist with business analysis, requirements definition, source data identification, data quality definition, transformation, and summarization processesCollaborate with analysts, data scientists, and data engineers to acquire, clean, and transform data for reporting purposesCreate, maintain and enhance queries and stored procedures that support the BI environmentCreate complex DAX calculations and measures to support data analysisMonitor data quality and reliability via thorough data verification and ongoing quality checks Troubleshoot, resolve issues, and offer methods of improvement to existing Power BI reportsDocument processes and provide training and support to end users on methods of data interpretation and optimal pathways to reach decisions or answer key questionsEnsure adherence to data governance and security standardsKeep up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and trends

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

Hands-on experience in report and dashboard development in Power BI, Tableau, or other BI softwareStrong understanding of data modeling and data visualization conceptsExperience with SQL for data manipulation and extractionKnowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating calculationsFamiliarity with data warehouse conceptsExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and as a part of a teamAdaptability to changing business requirementsA bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, or relevant fieldsPower BI certifications are a plus

Education

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or related field.

 

Risk Designation

This role has been assigned the Technical risk profile.  As such, staff in this role must follow security practices appropriate to the heightened value of their identities, access, and authority, with a special focus on activities that may allow unauthorized use of PG Forsta's technology platforms and data.  Staff in these roles may be subject to additional security controls and monitoring commensurate with their risk to PG Forsta.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $140,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
