Bid Business Analyst
Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a National School Lunch Program Bid Business Analyst for the Pilgrim’s Foodservice Gold Kist USDA/CN Team
Responsibilities:
Analysis & Reporting:
Evaluate bid requests and proposal requirements to assess feasibility, identify risks, and recommend solutions.Deliver accurate, timely, and actionable analytics using ProcessorLink, BidForge, Qlik, and other business intelligence tools.Maintain a strong working knowledge of data flow across PPC operational systems.Generate routine performance reports (daily, weekly, monthly) to track business operations efficiently.Collaboration & Communication:
Partner with Pilgrim’s USDA and Sales team leadership to define problem statements, estimate timelines for solutions, and provide regular project updates.Collaborate with sales, legal, and finance teams to gather critical information for bid preparation.Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain necessary documentation and details for proposals.Bid Preparation & Management:
Prepare detailed, competitive proposals in response to RFPs and RFQs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements, USDA regulations, and legal standards.Conduct market research to identify pricing trends, competitor strategies, and market opportunities.Review and edit bid documents to align with client specifications and submission standards.Maintain a centralized database of bid-related information for analysis and future references.Post-Bid Evaluation:
Monitor and track the status of submitted bids, providing updates to stakeholders as needed.Assist in post-bid analyses to evaluate outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and refine strategies.Other Duties:
Ensure all bid and reporting activities adhere to company and industry standards.Perform additional duties as assigned to support business objectives.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Agribusiness, Computer Science, Business Analysis, or a related field preferred.
At least 1 year of experience in a relevant role.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.Proficiency in Excel (intermediate to advanced) and familiarity with data visualization tools like QlikView or Qlik Sense.Experience in the meat industry or with government/public sector bidding processes is a major plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is preferred.Willingness and ability to travel as business needs dictate.Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodationAs a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule; Base salary range of $64,000-$78,000; Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and Career Development: Our company is dedicated to supporting professional growth by offering continuous learning opportunities and a focus on career growth through various learning and development programs.
