Susquehanna International Group is seeking a talented Senior Big Data Engineer with development and database administration experience to join our Data Technologies Team. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining large and complex on-premise database systems using Hadoop, Oracle, and other technologies.
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and support database applications for our data systems Design, develop, and support Linux shell scripts and Python for batch processingDesign solutions using Hadoop, Hive, Druid, Spark technologiesMaintain and support our Oracle database instance and applications in a high-transaction environmentPerform routine and customary operational activities to ensure a stable database environmentProvide production support off hours/weekend, when needed

What we're looking for
A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience with database development and database administration (Oracle preferred)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline or its foreign equivalentExperience working with on-prem systems and large data sets (terabytes)Strong communication skills and experience working directly with end usersExperience with query performance tuningExperience with Python and Unix Shell scripting requiredExperience with extracting or loading data between RDBMS and Big DataAbility and flexibility to provide occasional off hour/weekend support
