In this role, you’ll support our Prospr Clients. Prospr is a new offering from Sun Life that empowers Clients to get the advice they need, where and when they need it. Enabled by a digital platform and a team of licensed advisors, Prospr helps Canadians select, prioritize, and track their goals all in one place. This is your opportunity to be part of establishing a new team in Health Insurance Operations.

What will you do?

Analyze medical, personal and financial information to evaluate eligibility for applications submitted for Life and Critical Illness Insurance productsAssess and classify risk. Gather additional information, obtain medical tests or refer cases as requiredLiaise with business leaders and advisors delivering exceptional service and expertiseContribute to a positive environment through team work, and a spirit of innovation, continuous improvement and professional developmentMaintain medical knowledge and stay current on underwriting approaches

What do you need to succeed?

Minimum 3 years of experience as an Individual Life UnderwriterBachelor's degree or equivalentAnalytical, judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skillsKnowledge of medicine and risk factorsService-oriented attitude with interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with our internal and external partnersProven ability to meet tight deadline, work under pressure prioritizing multiple tasksSpecialized training: ALU certificate and commitment to ongoing education with a goal of attaining the Fellow, Academy of Life Underwriting (FALU) and Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) designationsBilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
