The Compliance Analyst supports the organization in maintaining regulatory compliance and ethical standards. This role involves monitoring and reviewing processes, policies, and procedures to ensure they align with regulatory requirements and industry standards. The Compliance Analyst works closely with various departments to identify potential compliance risks and implement effective solutions.
Position Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance and Correspondence
Recipient on distribution lists from the Regulators to ensure awareness of upcoming changes and impact on PDS.
Corresponding with Regulators - both verbal and written addressing their concerns regarding submissions of documents related to new registrations, asset transfers, amendments, plan wind up, etc. - including QSPP correspondence via the portal and compliance letters.
First point of contact for Regulators.
FATCA/CRS certification on Non-Registered business – entity.
FATCA/CRS annual reporting for Non-Registered business – entity.
AML assessment on Non-Registered business – entity.
Registration of RPP and DPSP.
Maintain library of approved wording per Legal & Compliance, housing a shared document for Operations.
Team Leadership and Coaching
Coach team on how to respond to letters/questions from the regulators.
Point of contact for Escalations.
Documentation and Updates
Maintain Docsengine, including legislative changes, product changes, and updated government forms.
Update procedures, Ondex and CRM sites.
Post and house Compliance Certificate on the Sponsor Site (A ‘Standard’ version and ‘non-standard’ version).
Project Management and Subject Matter Expertise (SME)
SME and assisted on applicable projects, such as product enhancements, unclaimed property, etc.
Oversight and SME on reportable events and CAP completion.
Representation and Communication
Dedicated representative for Manulife PDS with Retraite Quebec
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience within Financial services, preferably pensions
Bilingual (French/English)
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and standards that apply to the Canadian pension industry.
Relevant Work Experience: Experience in compliance, risk management, auditing, or a related field
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills to relay information clearly and effectively
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues and develop solutions to compliance challenges.
Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying updated on changing regulations and industry best practices.

Canadian Compliance Pension Certification
