Job Summary:     

CASES seeks a Bilingual Resource Navigator (Spanish) who supports ROAR participants in accessing meaningful educational opportunities, job readiness programming, and career pathways. This role is essential in helping court-involved youth and young adults overcome systemic barriers, reengage in learning, and build sustainable futures. The Employment Specialist provides case management, coaching, and connection to high-quality services that promote long-term success. 

                                              

The ROAR program is a trauma-informed, multidisciplinary alternative-to-incarceration initiative serving youth and young adults ages 16–27 facing felony or misdemeanor charges in NYC. ROAR supports participants’ growth through strengths-based interventions across education, mental health, employment, and family systems, offering an individualized success plan for each young person. 



 

Shift Hours: This position is full-time Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM 

 

Salary: The salary for this role is $55,000 per year 

  

Location Address: 4 West 125th Street, New York, NY 10027. Our office is easily accessible by public transportation. 

 

Workplace Flexibility: Flexible - Staff have the flexibility to complete their workday from home or another suitable space, typically after reporting to the office and/or engaging in field or community-based work. 

  

What You Will Be Doing:  

Build trusting, trauma-informed relationships with participants using a strengths-based, culturally responsive approach.Assess educational history, literacy levels, vocational interests, and employment readiness for each participant.Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized success plans.Connect participants to High School Equivalency (HSE) programs, tutoring, trade schools, and postsecondary institutions.Assist with enrollment in job readiness programs, paid training opportunities, internships, or subsidized employment.Provide support with resume development, job applications, interview preparation, and digital literacy.Facilitate small group workshops on career exploration, education planning, and workplace soft skills.Coordinate with external partners to streamline referrals and advocate for participant access.Conduct follow-up to ensure retention and progress in educational and workforce placements.Track participants’ attendance, progress, and outcomes using internal databases and documentation.Maintain communication with ROAR team regarding participant progress.Participate in weekly multidisciplinary case conferences.Stay informed about educational and workforce trends and best practices.Prepare written reports, and progress updates, as required.Model and reinforce positive youth development and restorative justice principles.Attend required training and professional development in trauma-informed care.

 

What We Are Looking For:  

High School Diploma or HSE/GED required. At least 2 years of experience working with court-involved or transitional-age youth.Bilingual Spanish/English Deep understanding of trauma, incarceration, poverty, and systemic racism impacts.Familiarity with HSE programs, workforce development models, and NYC service systems.Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.Commitment to equity, inclusion, and justice-oriented practice.Ability to travel within NYC as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree.
