Your Role as a Family Worker
As a Family Worker within the Queens Community House Childcare Network (QCCN), you’ll be a vital resource for families enrolled in the NYC Department of Education (DOE) EarlyLearn and 3K Programs. You will be the bridge between families and the resources they need—advocating, supporting, and guiding them throughout their childcare journey.
From facilitating enrollment to connecting families with essential services such as education, healthcare, housing, and legal assistance, you will play a key role in shaping their experience.

What You'll Do
+ Champion family engagement efforts under the guidance of the QCCN Director.
+ Lead recruitment, intake, registration, and assessments for new families.
+ Serve as a trusted point of contact, responding promptly to inquiries and guiding families through the enrollment process.
+ Maintain meticulous records to ensure compliance with NYC DOE and Department of Health (DOH) regulations.
+ Track and analyze family data using reports, spreadsheets, and surveys.
+ Develop personalized family support plans and connect them to critical social services.
+ Plan and execute vibrant parent engagement activities alongside educational staff.
+ Provide direct assistance to families in need of special education, mental health, or housing support services.
+ Represent QCCN in case conferences and follow-up meetings for children with special needs.
+ Build and nurture relationships with community organizations offering support services.
+ Organize workshops, family events, and special gatherings to encourage community participation.
+ Co-create and update a Community Partner Resource Guide for families and providers.
+ Gather and analyze family feedback through surveys to enhance program quality.
+ Maintain thorough documentation of all engagement activities in alignment with the Early Childhood Framework for Quality (EFQ).
+ Connect families with other QCH programs and services that may benefit them.
+ Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support QCCN’s mission.
What We’re Looking For
+ Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field (Completed or In Progress).
+ Fluency in Spanish (required).
+ Willingness to travel within the QCCN catchment area.
+ Strong time management, written, and verbal communication skills.
+ Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
+ Experience working with families with young children (required).
+ Experience in family childcare or working with infants and toddlers (preferred).
+ Tech-savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom, and Google Docs.
+ NYC DOE PETS Clearance (required).
