Position: Billing Agent Core Responsibilities & Duties: + Manage EDI downloads from customers + Communicate with internal sales representatives and external agents to confirm shipment charges + Review courier and agent invoices to verify accuracy, compile necessary documentation, and prepare for billing + Process courier billing into the JSI invoicing system on a weekly basis + Handle invoice adjustments as needed + Maintain accurate records for future reference and follow-up procedures + Evaluate current billing procedures and identify opportunities for improvement + Deliver exceptional customer service through professional communication and prompt responses to billing and shipment inquiries + Ensure customer profiles and established rates are accurate and up-to-date + Provide coverage for team members during absences, as required + Prepare and deliver invoice files to customers + Compile and submit weekly invoices and related files to the accounting department + Understand shipment tracking and notification procedures + Foster a team-oriented environment and maintain a collaborative mindset + Adhere to all company policies and standards + Other duties as assigned Qualifications: + Entry-level position; prior billing experience preferred + Strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Exemplary customer service skills + Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and professional, with strong problem-solving abilities + Pride in producing accurate work consistently + Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels + Positive attitude and a strong drive to excel within the company What We Offer: + Competitive base salary + Paid time off within the first year of employment, sick time and holidays + Company provided life insurance + Health, vision, and dental insurance options + Commuter benefit plan + Optional supplemental life insurance + 401(k) + Wellness program + A great place to work with a terrific culture #IND About Us Since 1990, Forward Air has been a leading provider of ground transportation and related logistics services to the North American air freight and expedited LTL market.
