Job Summary / Purpose
This position contributes to the mission of CHI Health by ensuring medical and pharmacy benefits are accurately provided and billed as well as management of patient and physician accounts receivable. This position works collaboratively with purchasing, patient care, ancillary and pharmacy services to ensure appropriate and timely notices to patients.
Essential Key Job ResponsibilitiesCommunicate and discuss medical supplies/equipment needs with patients.Answer any medical billing questions for patients.Research insurance eligibility and coverage/benefits on patients and complete any necessary paperwork and/or submit clinical notes in a timely manner to ensure approval of claims. Maneuver billing software to make updates to patient, insurance and inventory records. Keep adequate records while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and regulations. Professionally communicate with other members of CHI team as well as with internal and external providers.Identify claims that have not been processed by either insurance or patient. After claim is identified take the next step in payment collection process.Other duties as assigned by managementQualifications

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to utilize computer processing in day to day activities; strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; good communication skills; strong teamwork skills; must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation; professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc). Knowledge of HCPC, ICD-10, HCFA a plus. Ability to perform non-complex mathematical calculations a must.
PREFERRED Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. A minimum of two years medical supplies and/or billing experience is desirable. Understanding of medical terminology and disease processes are preferred.
