Billing Specialist, Home Care and Hospice
Fairview Range is looking for a Billing Specialist to join our Home Care and Hospice team. The Billing Specialist will maximize reimbursement through accurate and timely submission and follow-up of claims for all payors and patients, maintains expertise related to billing issues including strong knowledge of regulations related to reimbursement. Schedule: This is a full-time position. You will work approximately 72-80 hours per two weeks, 8-hour Day shifts. No weekends. As a Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for: Completing billing process Validating charges. Ensuring maximum and appropriate reimbursement is acquired. Filing claims: primary, secondary, third party and follow-up. Obtaining/ensuring prior authorizations. Entering payments into account receivables. Updating ledgers on all accounts. Printing reports. Maintaining knowledge related to billing regulations. Reporting issues related to fraud and abuse immediately. Answering patient billing inquiries and payors' questions. Preparing and generating billing for patients on a timely basis. Preparing and discharging charts and files in permanent file. Required Qualifications Two-year college graduate in accounting, secretarial or medical field Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding.
