Covenant Physician Partners is hiring a Billing Specialist for our Medical billing office for Regional SurgiCenter and Quad City Gastroenterology located in Moline, IL.

About the Opportunity

Under general direction from the Executive Director, the Billing Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of the Revenue Cycle, including insurance verifications, billing, collections, coding, payment posting, and patient services.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Resolve patient account issues, respond to inquiries, and assist with statements. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for accurate claims processing. Communicate patients' financial responsibilities before procedures. Identify and resolve billing and claims issues with management. Achieve daily production goals set by the Revenue Cycle Manager. Provide training and guidance to staff in account resolution. Compile and submit claims to insurance companies. Review and correct claims for clean submission. Resolve billing edits and disputed balances. Process payments, maintain logs, and reconcile accounts. Improve processes for accuracy and efficiency. Adhere to company policies and provide excellent customer service. Handle inquiries, emails, and audits effectively. Maintain HIPAA and EPHI compliance. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 About the Candidate 

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare business office. Medical Billing certification preferred. Experience with all payer types including: commercial, governmental, Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, etc. and the ability to cross-over into different payers. Experience with Anesthesia, Ambulatory Surgery and Lab billing preferred. Experience with CPT, ICD-10, and NCCI coding.
