Job DescriptionThe Billing Specialist generates invoices and adjusts billing where necessary in accordance with department policies. You must audit billing information to ensure accuracy and resolve billing disputes, working in concert with their departments to achieve objectives. You must ensure that all duties are carried out in line with within set time limits while providing excellent service to all Informa customers and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Complete monthly process billing within established guidelines while adhering to the department’s policies, processes, and goals.
· Verify and compare ad space against the original customers’ documentation/insertion order/purchase orders.
· Audit sales contracts and insertion orders to ensure accuracy of terms and rates.
· Adhere to general accounting practices and perform reconciliation functions where applicable.
· Adjust billing figures according to updated information/contracts.
· Research and resolve customer inquiries regarding billing issues.
· Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve billing conflicts, assisting and supporting these departments where applicable.
· Maintain supporting documentation for annual audits.
· Generate test data for system upgrades.
· Perform other duties or ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications· High school degree or equivalent, some college preferred.
· Hands on knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including: Excel, Word, Outlook, and OneNote.
· One year accounting experience preferably in a billing department.
· Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
· Strict attention to detail with exemplary follow-through and organizational skills.
· Superb customer service and interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Ability to effectively and independently manage workload while meeting deadlines
Additional InformationThe pay range for this position is $19-21 / hour depending on experience.
Full Time: 36.25 hours/week
