BIM Administrator
**This Opportunity** WSP USA is initiating a search for a **BIM Administrator** out of our **Greater Washington, D.C.** Area Offices. The WSP BIM Administrator is responsible for implementing and supervising drawing and modeling standards, managing drawing production, and performing non-routine and complex drafting and modeling assignments through the use of various software programs, primarily Revit, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D in an Autodesk Construction Cloud environment. The BIM Administrator will report to WSP USA's National Transportation Digital Delivery team and will be assigned to the Washington DC area full-time. The BIM Administrator will lead the WMATA Digital Team, and will focus on providing BIM-related training, updating company standards, and assisting with Drawing production. Additional responsibilities include assisting with project BIM and Information Management functions for WMATA. The BIM Administrator will be well versed in information management process and have previous experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams in all aspects of information production, delivery and exchange. The BIM Administrator will also be responsible for BIM project delivery both internally and externally to WSP and should have experience running coordination and production delivery meetings. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. **Your Impact** + Lead the development of the Authority’s cloud-based Design Management Software System (DMSS). + Create and edit drawings using AutoCAD and Revit to support Capital projects spanning the entire project life cycle from preliminary to final design, procurement, and as-builts. + Develop policies and procedures to maintain and support the ACC design environment. + Advanced knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Autodesk Construction Cloud, including advanced modeling, custom family creation, drawing package management, clash detection and scripting. + Ability to anticipate and recognize issues related to own work. + Ability to gather appropriate resources in order to solve problems. + As a subject matter expert, the BIM Administrator will act as a resource to the project team through all phases of design development and provide technical support to the project team daily. + Ensure that the BIM process for creating and managing information related to templates and design documents is fully developed, implemented, and maintained. + Maintain project contract records, plans and specifications, and related engineering and administrative records. + Prepare design intent drawings using Revit software as the basis and integrate with other software for comprehensive renderings/animation. + Manages overall Digital scope, role of the BIM team, and the roles of other BIM operators for a project. + Serve as the primary point of contact to manage and administer WMATA’s ACC environment. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong analytical technical writing skills. + Experience monitoring and successfully managing time spent versus time allocated for task completion. + Manage the BIM/CAD coordination process for current and future projects for WMATA. + Verify accuracy of drawings, compatibility of work across disciplines, and accuracy and level of detail for quantity calculations. + Calculate quantities and perform engineering-related computations + Facilitates collaboration and clash detection for a large, multi-discipline project team across multiple companies. + Troubleshoots general Revit/CAD/Civil 3D project-related issues with limited assistance of department management. + Communicate the benefits of ACC to internal and external audiences, in a variety of settings, such as at stakeholder meetings, and through reports to senior leadership. + Conduct internal training and recommend outside training for Revit users at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels for WMATA staff. + Self-Checks own work, and staff’s, to identify QA/QC improvement opportunities. + Administer and provide technical guidance for Digital Design document acceptance, files, and retrieval, including attributes for internal and external stakeholders. + Control quality including completeness and adherence to the Authority’s standards. + Manage software integration and updates to ensure standardized use and enhance longevity and usefulness to different business lines, such as Facilities & Operations. + Collaboratively work with both internal and external stakeholders to offer suggestions for eliminating issues related to modern design concepts and existing ones. + Attend monthly progress meeting, and perform additional assignments as directed by the WMATA Task Manager. **Who You Are** Required Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management; in lieu of a bachelor's degree, an associate's degree in architecture, engineering, or related field along with four (4) years of progressive work experience in a related field (i.e., architecture, engineering, or construction management) + Seven (7) years of experience in CAD/BIM management for facilities, alignments, or utilities on construction and rehabilitation projects, to include three (3) years of direct supervision of staff + Experience in developing and utilizing BIM information to support project development and Design. + Knowledge of WMATA BIM standards and requirements, and experience with an ACC network architecture. + Experience and understanding of document management applications (Sharepoint, Newforma, Dropbox, BIM 360, ACC, etc.) + Working knowledge of architecture, engineering, OSHA, and security related requirements as it pertains to WMATA’s portfolio of existing and proposed infrastructure. Specific experience with preparing drawings that adhere to the various code requirements for all disciplines of Federal, State, and local jurisdictions is required. + Proven ability to understand and recognize complex design problems. + Effective communication skills with a team-oriented attitude. + Extensive experience with all Microsoft applications. + Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures. + Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task. + Diversity Oriented - Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
