Freese and Nichols is currently searching for an experienced Transportation CAD Designer in Oklahoma City or Tulsa, Oklahoma. This dynamic position will provide design assistance to Transportation engineers to produce 3D CAD models of engineering designs and will generate plan sets for construction projects. The job requirements/responsibilities include:
Understanding of project requirements, scope of work, and deliverablesResponsible for overall tasks and deliverables on projects as delegated by the Project Manager, to include: elements of design, plan generation and production, addressing red lines, and overall product aestheticPrepares detail and layout drawings and sketches of unusual, complex, or original designs requiring the application of theoretical and practical engineering knowledgePerforms discipline design tasks which regularly require the application of fundamental engineering concepts with limited input and direction from the engineerMay provide conceptual input to projects during the planning stagesCoordinates design with other disciplines and coordinates work sharing within the teamEnsures output is professional, consistent with prevailing standards and satisfies project requirementsInterfaces with other departments, clients, vendors, and project engineers in order to support project productionProvides training, guidance and mentorship to less experienced staffPerforms quality control on deliverables and incorporates Continuous Improvement into work processesDevelops and implements new processes as required to ensure consistent qualityMay lead CAD activities on projectsMay manage CAD Library for disciplineMay manage and supervisor CAD staffQualifications12+ years with a broad base in engineering design and technical support of engineering including advanced expertise in computer operation and in CAD software including Microstation experience with preference for in-depth knowledge of Open Roads Designer, Geopak, and/or InRoadsProven ability to learn, adapt, and problem solve to produce accurate and quality deliverables. Ability to work with all levels of personnel. High School diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualifications
