Freese and Nichols is seeking a BIM/CAD Technician I for our Lubbock, TX office. This position is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining CAD production drawings and figures. The selected candidate will be able to utilize AutoCAD and Civil3D for development of engineering designs and production drawings based on input and guidance.
Essential Functions
Draft drawings and details for civil infrastructure projects based on input provided by Design Engineers. Utilize FNI CAD Standards and follows instruction per direction from Project Manager, Designers and Lead CAD Staff.Prepares typical civil layout drawings for designs that are simple to complex engineering and construction drawings. Ability to interpret hand-sketches and drawings markups to make changes to AutoCAD drawings.Applies revisions from markups and provide quality control to work that is submitted to the Project Manager.Places and manages files according to CAD Standards and prepares final drawings.Ability to review survey data and incorporate into design work.Prepares accurate and complete layouts, cross sections, details, and production documents with direct input from Designer or Engineer. Work as part of a design team and communicate effectively. Works collaboratively with other CAD Staff and Engineers to contribute to multiple projects throughout the organization and work alongside other CAD technicians, civil engineers, and project managers locally and virtually in other offices. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications0+ years’ experience performing CAD functions for the development of construction drawings. Aptitude for mathematics, reading drawings and maps, 3D visualization, and a moderate degree of computer and CAD software competency.High School diploma or equivalentPreferred:
