What we need 

We are looking for a BIM Manager to join our Structure and System Layout team within our Continuous Improvement and Installation Standards organization. Your job will be to provide overall guidance and leadership to the BIM department in the creation of complex steel structures as part of large-scale automation systems within customer Distribution Centers. You will also be expected to continue implementation of leading edge, custom developed Revit templates and processes related to design of large steel structures and Revit representations of advanced automation machinery. This opportunity will expose you to a wide variety of engineering teams within our organization as well as customer’s architects, structural engineers, construction leaders and leading-edge technologies in the automation and robotics industries. 

 

What we do 

The System Layout and Structural Engineering team is part of the Hardware Engineering organization, which is responsible for the Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical Engineering of the Symbot and the Structure, System Layout, and Electrical Distribution Systems. 

 

What you’ll do 

Lead the continued implementation of Revit, including all related training, regarding applications, standards, and techniques to allow for fast and efficient workflows which produce deliverables spanning from part generation thru installation drawings and Bill of Material releases.  

Ensure that the Revit team’s processes and outputs create accurate and timely deliverables which result in a reduction of change orders and RFI’s (i.e., requests for information) from the field, as well as vendors or partners). 

Further develop Standards and Standard Operating Procedures for 3D Model content development as well as for production of supporting documentation (i.e., construction documentation etc.). Implement data-driven decision making to create and improve processes for accurate digital hand-offs between stakeholders per Phase Gate program milestones. 

Continue to monitor available 3D modeling software products and advanced Revit methodologies to improve the group’s overall performance and deliverable quality and accuracy. Advanced methodologies include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning where applicable. 

 

What you’ll need 

Minimum 8 years of experience in the building or automation machinery industries.

Minimum 8 years of experience using Revit in a large scale, precision-based project capacity. 

Architectural or Structural Engineering adjacent degree a plus.

BIM or Revit specific certifications a plus.

Our Environment  

Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. 

The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
